Botswana Guides Association was established in 1999 at the request of guides in Maun to provide a platform guides and small sale operators to express their concerns and needs. It is a networking and advisory organisation. Today, BOGA is well known Association, which focuses generally on guiding development. Concerned individuals are increasingly approaching BOGA for advice, information and various other forms of assistance. BOGA has made great strides in assisting guides to acquire training and education.
BOGA promotes the development of the locally based tour and safari industry in Botswana providing employment opportunities for the local people.
BOGA works towards on-going improvement and maintenance of high standards, professionalism and ethics of the tour and safari industry in Botswana.
BOGA members see safari industry as an integral part of Wildlife Management Program and Conservation in Botswana.

The members of BOGA are Botswana citizens and their companies are based in Botswana.
Most of the BOGA members are mobile safari operators.
